Manmade Weather

Ghanaian Sunshine Brought to Britain

The next time you feel like the winter is dragging on and on and that you’ll never see the sun in the sky again, put your own one up there. That’s what Cadbury Dairy Milk did on a wintry Brighton beach this week. A huge imitation sun emitting the same amount of light as the Ghanaian sun appeared on the beach to mark a Fairtrade Fortnight initiative that will see the company donate profits to provide solar panels for a Ghanaian community that provides the cocoa beans to make the delicious treats we all love.

Renowned British weatherman Michael Fish was on hand to "switch on" the sun, too, lighting up the otherwise gray day for the people of Brighton. It's nice to see a weatherman being able to guarantee sunshine for the first time ever in the U.K.
