Digital Friendship Devices

MagnetU Uses Your Online Interests to Help You Meet Real-World Friends

Forming friendships could get a whole lot easier thanks to MagnetU, a new device that lets you wirelessly share yourself. MagnetU is a small device designed to broadcast your likes and wants to other users. Users can build their profiles online at the MagnetU site or simply upload their Facebook profile into the gadget.

When your profile is all loaded up, you're ready to make friends without having to lift a finger. The gadget sends you an alert when a compatible profile is detected nearby. Users receive a text message informing them that an "Attractive," "Hot" or "Red Hot" match is nearby. Users can then either meet up later online or contact one another provided their contact info is listed on their MagnetU profile. Once a person has connected with two or more people, they will be able to see the connections made by their friends.
