'Red Sands Cabins' are Accommodations Build on Reservations

A group of university students have built two luxury cabins on a Navaho reservation in Utah. The remote cube cabins are meant to provide accommodations for guests wanting to explore the area. The two cabins, called 'Sunset' and 'Sunrise' are built beside each other and both share vistas of distant mountains and Monument Valley, a cluster of tall sandstone buttes.

Each cabin is made from durable, weathering steel and boasts a reclaimed barn wood frame. The patios are built on the north end of each property, providing shade during the scorching summers.

The interiors continue Navaho traditions of eastern entryways which allow doorways to welcome the sun. Sinks and countertops are made with concrete while interior walls are accented with reclaimed wood. Each window location is carefully selected to emphasize views of the sky and the surrounding landscape.
