LuxeIsland Farm is an eco-farm project designed by Various Associates along the Zhujia River in the Jiang’an District of Wuhan, China. The site covers approximately 230,000 square metres and is developed as a destination that integrates animal enclosures, creative workshops, retail and dining within a single framework. The masterplan adopts a circular layout that connects these programmatic zones and supports visitor circulation through the landscape.
The architectural design embeds structures into the terrain to minimise visual impact and uses natural materials including bamboo, timber and stone. Bamboo weaving plays a structural role in roof and pavilion elements, while semi-submerged enclosures reduce mass and allow animals such as alpacas and deer to occupy open paddocks. The project combines ecological education and recreation with facilities for family activities and events, with green roofs and open frameworks integrated into the valley setting.
