Ladel-Like Patient Carriers

The Lucy Lift is Efficient and Ergonomic for the User and Operator

The goal when moving hospital patients is to keep them as comfortable as possible but also to avoid injury to the nurses who help them out. The Lucy Lift is an apparatus designed to do what other machines have done before, but this one has shed much of the bulk for a more streamlined, powerful and user-friendly improvement.

Elman Lewis's invention sits upon an L-shaped frame with a set of strong wheels and a lightweight fork to steady it firmly on the floor. It rises up with a single spine, from which the seat dips down and can be adjusted in height. The gap between the backbone and the chair is optimal for use in the bath and the open supports allow for easy use of the toilet.
