Art acquires a different perspective when optical illusions are integrated, and the Scottish-based artist Lola Dupre uses a particularly unique kaleidoscope effect to create explosive subjects. By only using "hand with paper, scissors and glue," Dupre’s collages are a representation of movement and bursting energy.
The collage expert develops mesmerizing photomontages by juxtaposing
diverse pieces of cut paper. Dupre employs images of celebrities or iconic people to distort them with this art technique. As a result, the photos obtain new perspectives and movement—a movement that simulates an explosion, or glass shattered into a million pieces.
Lola Dupre will exhibit her show Shrapnel at the Phone Booth Gallery in Long Beach, California until November 5, 2011.
