Intricate Origami Lava Installations

This Fiery Design Was Seen at the Lluèrnia Festival

The LLUÈRNIA festival of light and fire in Catalonia sees some of the most innovative and exciting designs, but one particular installation from SP25 arquitectura and anna juncà created a lasting impression.

Set in an abandoned building, the design duo created origami lava that appears to be fluid. The design, which is back lit to further wow the audience was created using 10,000 folded pieces of paper. The town's setting was the inspiration behind this piece, as it's surrounded by dormant volcanoes. The paper flames can be seen flowing out of the window and through the door of the abandoned building, creating the impression that the lava has taken over the land.
