While most lamps' most treasured quality is the fact that they provide light in the dark, the Light Jars offer something a little more tangible. They can be filled with actual treasures -- reminiscent of objects that little children would collect and display proudly just like these light fixtures do.
Created by Kristine Five Melvaer, the Light Jars were recently displayed at the Stockholm Furniture and Light Fair. According to the Norwegian designer, the Light Jars focus on the "communicative potentials of objects as a means to create emotional bonds between object and user." Made out of tinted glass, a wooden top and white wicker-like cord, the Light Jars arrive empty so that people can put whatever they like inside.
