Lawn Art

Mona Lisa in Grass

There is a growing trend in decorative garden art. Although topiaries or picturesque, pruned bushes have long being a favourite, the lawn is now another canvas for creative gardeners. Chris Naylor sculpted the famous Mona Lisa and her smile on Tania Ledger's lawn in Croydon, South London using just a small lawnmower and some garden tools.

Chris Naylor is a 3D art expert who worked on the film The Da Vinci Code which also featured the painting. The painting will disappear in a few weeks but like sandcastles and ice sculptures, such fleeting art has a charm of its own.
