Laura Jane Petelko Exhibited Her Photos In Collaboration With Holly Venable

Artist Laura Jane Petelko and poet Holly Venable exhibited a collaborative poetry art pop-up show in Toronto. Located at The Lyceum Gallery at 969 Queen Street West, the gallery opened on August 19th with celebratory cocktails and excited guests. The show is on exhibit until August 29th, 2021, and features two of Laura Jane's selected pieces from her Soft Stories series.

Verses from Holly Venable accompany the two featured photographs. "Wilding" depicts the grounded bird creature in Laura Jane's photograph as it stomps in frustration. "Further All the Time" addresses society's descent into self-isolation throughout the past year and a half. The poem relates to the photographed creatures as they lay separate and dilapidated on the Noveau Scotian landscape.
