Iconic Painting Remixes

Artist Nataliya Platonova Brings Dinnertime to Life in Her Illustrations

Moscow native Nataliya Platonova is an artist who has drawn up a series of illustrations entitled 'The Last Supper.'

Illustrated and showcased on her Moleskin notebook, Nataliya's inspiration drew from the old Biblical story itself and the togetherness dinnertime usually brings. She draws a series of quite grim and outlandish characters and what she feels their dinner time experience would be like. Platonova describes her art as "a bent to self destruction in the world of amateurs and fake idols."

It's fairly easy to get lost in each unique illustration but even the seemingly inculpable characters are seen to be sitting down to a cannibalistic meal.

Etching in as much detail the small notebook would allow, Nataliya opens her imagination and shows us what 'The Last Supper' with an unusual cast of characters would be like.
