Lawless Youth Snapshots

Larry Clark's C/O Berlin Showcases Rowdy Youngsters

Photographer and filmmaker Larry Clark's C/O Berlin exhibit will bring the artists unruly work to Germany. The Oklahoma native has received international attention for his 'Teenage Lust' and 'Los Angeles' collections, each building on the titillating beauty of rowdy American youth.

Clark's 'Tulsa, 1971' sparked heady interest in the artist. It was through the book that he relayed images of his drug abusing subjects, many of whom posed in promiscuous manners. He captured the dysfunctional nature of the time and place, giving way to a visual documentation of history.

The C/O Berlin showcase reintroduces Clark into the contemporary art fold, although little is needed to accomplish as much. His work is hotly anticipated by his contemporaries, and will continue to be so so long as violence, surfing and punk culture persists.
