Lululemon's 'Lab' Collection Explores Loose-Fitting Unisex Styles

The new 44-piece Lab collection includes pieces for men and women, as well as some unisex designs that will be sold online and in select Lululemon stores, with prices that are about 30% higher than Lululemon. The jackets, shorts, pants, jumpsuits and shirts in the collection feature boxy, loose-fitting designs that are not strongly gendered, which makes them stand out from the brand's well-known, curve-accentuating styles. As Sun Choe, Lululemon’s head of product tells Fastcompany, "We’ve taken away much of the curve seaming that accentuates the female form, we’ve taken out some of that in the interests of minimalism, which makes the clothes feel a little less feminine."

Although the overall look and style of the Lab collection introduces something new for Lululemon fans, the apparel is just as high-performance as ever with a focus on fast-drying and moisture-wicking fabrics.
