Kitty Hawk is Google Co-founder Larry Page's Next Venture

Google co-founder Larry Page has just revealed Kitty Hawk, his new flying car project. At least that's what the media thought Kitty Hawk was working on. In reality the company was busy building the Flyer, a human-sized drone capable of operating only on water. That's the bad news, the inability for the craft to be operated over land. The good news is that learning to pilot the Flyer is apparently an easy skill to pick up.

Kitty Hawk says it takes only minutes to learn how to control its all-electric aircraft. The Flyer doesn't require operators to have a pilot's license either, which removes another barrier to entry. Prices for the new aircraft were not revealed, but Kitty Hawk has invited interested parties to purchase a $100 membership good for three years. In addition to invites to exclusive events the membership also knocks $2,000 off the retail price of the Flyer.
