The Kelowna House Overlooks the Okanagan Lake

David Tyrell Architecture designed the 'Kelowna House,' a residence titled after the city it is located near in British Columbia.

Perhaps the most impressive feature of the house is the view, which looks over the Okanagan Lake. The 10,000 sq. feet home cleverly interlocks spaces throughout the main decks, combining a high-brow style with a commitment to nature. The house is equipped with indoor and outdoor spaces for entertaining, one example being the bountiful infinity pool.

The sensitivity of the area required the architects to obtain a Environmental Development Permit from the city of Kelowna. The city also enforced an Environmental Monitor to supervise the construction process, which took nearly two years. An arborist was also called in to ensure the trees had optimal protection. This was especially important considering the home's aesthetic is dependent on it blending with the surrounding area.
