The KD7 Calm Before The Storm Shoes Are Inspired by Kevin Durant

The new Nike KD7 Calm Before the Storm shoe is inspired by last year's NBA Most Valuable Player Kevin Durant's on-court personality. At first glance, Durant appears very relaxed, cool and at-ease, much like a calm before the storm. But when it's clutch time, Durant inevitably strikes with lightning-quick speed and ruthless precision.

The shoe has a tastefully designed grey and pink colorway that represents the tranquil horizon that appears before an impending storm.

The KD7 Calm Before The Storm is studded with a variety of elements of personal significance to Durant. A silhouette of his home state of Maryland can be seen on the outsole. The names of his mother, grandmother, father and brother are inscribed on the forefoot scrap.

The shoe launches in limited quantities on August 16 at select retailers and Nike's website.
