Omnidirectional Virtual Treadmills

The Kat Walk VR Treadmill Allows Greater Freedom of Movement

The Kat Walk VR treadmill is a virtual reality treadmill that takes a unique approach towards the virtual treadmill experience. This contraption gets rid of the constrictive rings and harnesses that are a staple on many other virtual reality treadmills such as the Virtuix Omni and the Cyberith Virtualizer.

Without rings or other barriers to stifle movement, Kat Walk VR treadmill users are free to move their body parts around with having to worry about hitting something. The treadmill is equipped with a built-in harness system that can accommodate different body types whilst supporting weight up to 308 pounds. It also features embedded sensors that can track users' movements and translate them to in-game actions.

The Kat Walk VR is currently the subject of a Kickstarter campaign, and is set to revolutionize the virtual treadmill world some time in 2016 if all goes to plan.
