Karakami Karacho and Uniqlo Unveil a Capsule Inspired by Karacho

Japanese retail label Uniqlo introduces a new capsule for Spring/Summer 2018 inspired by Karakami Karacho. Karacho is one of Japan's oldest surviving paper studios, and the influence is drawn from the karakami paper practice. This concept is traditionally practiced with hand-carved motifs and designs on top of whitebark magnolia. The retail label taps to this as an influence by adorning cotton t-shirts and shorts with traditional designs.

The new Karakami Karacho x Uniqlo collection reinterprets these Japanese motifs and incorporates light pastel hues, geometric designs, and repetitive patterning. Some of the crewneck t-shirts boast a pocket on the chest and have a color palette that includes light yellow, pink, green, black, and white. The capsule is now available for purchase online and in-store at Uniqlo.
