Blank Billboard Photography

Kaitlin Rebesco's Work Alters Society's Perception Towards Advertising

When living in any major city, large billboards showcasing various advertisements are a staple in everyday life, and Kaitlin Rebesco has altered those ads in order to demonstrate the waste of space.

In a collection entitled 'Color Block,' Rebesco uses black and white photography in order to contrast the lack of advertisement. In place of the ads, she has added a block of pastel color. These pastel shades completely change the look of the photo. Not only does the color act as an accent to the monochromatic pictures, but the blocks of color make the billboard space stand out. We pass by billboards almost every day and rarely pay them any attention, but when changed to a beautiful color, they become worth looking at. Kaitlin Rebesco has been able to change the scenery of a major city, and make it more aesthetically pleasing.
