Justin Plunkett, a Cape Town-based creative director and photographer, likes to infuse fictional aspects into his landscape photography. Using digital techniques, the artist constructs architecture solely based on his own creative imagination, not real-life structures, and infuses them into his photos.
His works are part of the series which he aptly dubbed ‘Con/Struct.’ The series is imaginative and surreal but at the same time, it's slightly gloomy. All of the photos are filled with gray skies and deserted landscapes and the majority of the buildings he created appear to be in desperate conditions.
According to Plunkett, he created the series in hopes to "encourage questioning and exploration" and to depict how "marketing-induced aspiration and perceived value can empower but can also corrupt."
