Circular Patchwork Collections

This Junya Watanabe Fall Collection Revels in the Blackest Blacks

The Junya Watanabe Fall 2014 RTW collection is a striking collection that plays primarily with two things: the color black and circles. Watanabe himself described the collection as "Patchwork madness," which can be seen through the way the many pieces of fabric come together.

The dark collection was presented in an equally dark venue, although the detailed appliqué did not go unappreciated. Textures used in the collection included satin, velvet, bouclé, leather, lace and sequins, giving the garments plenty of dimension and volume. Although black has come to be a color that's a staple in most wardrobes, this collection reminds that black can hold its own as a statement piece, rather than serving as support for a color.
