These Vegan Cheeses Aim to Be First Choices, Not Alternatives

Julienne Bruno takes inspiration from traditional animal-based cheeses to create dairy-free and vegan cheeses that stand out for their exceptional quality. The company puts its own spin on classics like burrata with 'burella' and 'superstraccia,' its own take on stracciatella. The former, for example, makes the most of ingredients like organic soya milk (which has one of the highest natural proteins amongst beans) and organic coconut oil.

The London-based vegan cheese producer newly announced a £5 million funding round led by Cherry Ventures and it will be using the funding to create products that consumers choose for their quality rather than the fact that the products are dairy-free. As the company says, the aim is to create products that are the "first choice, not alternatives."
