Jonathon Saunders' Fall 2014 collection is the perfect example of taking something old and making it new. Saunders re-appropriated old textiles to create entirely new garments. He often used glitter to bond together two or more scrap textiles, resulting in sparkly hems and seams on several of the well-made pieces.
Beyond the patchwork glitter aesthetic, Saunders offers long, mutton-sleeved outerwear that looks incredibly cozy. The extravagant silhouettes and checkered patterns ensure that each piece is a statement-maker that will stop passers-by dead in their tracks.
The mix-and-match look debuted in a show ripe with dystopian flavor. The show, much like the collection, is a commentary on how everything is disposable, reusable and recyclable.
