Jon Duenas Uses Double Exposure to Create His Work

Portland-based photographer Jon Duenas has created a series of photographs that blend women with nature. Using double-exposure, Duenas combines two photographs, but makes it seem like it could easily be one image.

Some of the photos completely erase the facial features of the women and replace them with sunlight-speckled trees. One almost feels as if they are looking into some type of natural soul while looking at these photographs. A few of the other images are in black and white, suggesting deep thought or depression as the trees have also turned to winter-time trees.

To create his pieces, Duenas has a collection of cameras, including a 35mm camera and several Polaroid cameras. He specializes in fashion, editorial and fine art photography.
