After seeing this converted water tower home from Jo Crepain Architect, I find myself wondering why more people aren't living in abandoned water towers. This specific water tower home is located on the fringe on Antwerp, Belgium, and is five stories of upcycled awesomeness.
Jo Crepain Architect has done a masterful job at turning what was once a derelict water tower (possibly) on the verge of collapse into an ultra modern and hip home. The walls and flooring on each level are made out of concrete, with staircases connecting each of the five floors. At nighttime, every floor of the structure is lit up with a blue lighting that makes this water tower home look strikingly ominous and eery. There are bound to be more and more abandoned water towers around the world as cities move to upgrade their infrastructure and essential services. I wouldn't be surprised to see water tower homes become as popular as shipping container homes.
