This Jil Sander Collection is Sleek and Surprisingly Feminine

After Jil Sander left her iconic label, the Fall 2014 RTW Jil Sander collection was left to the designer's in-house team. Rather than going in a bold new direction, the team decided to pay tribute to what Sander is best known for, which included "restating the fundamental codes" of the brand.

Despite putting a large focus on dresses, there were distinctly masculine elements to the collection as well, which came in through coats with popped collars, menswear-inspired cuts and cropped trousers. However, the coloring of the clothing was anything but mannish, featuring a light range of muted pastel shades in pinks, greens and blues that were so understated, they could practically pass as neutrals alongside some of the grays.
