Adam Nathaniel Furman Embraces Japanese Lacquer Work in New Capsule

Intricate Japanese lacquer work and a mythical "one-eyed boy" are the driving catalysts of London-based creative Adam Nathaniel Furman's latest endeavor in furniture design. Known for his exceptionally whimsical approach to home pieces, this collection is slightly divergent from the professional's usual approach.

The capsule — which consists of a chair, stool, and a bench, is simply dubbed 'HK.' In the curation of the silhouettes, Adam Nathaniel Furman embraces Japanese lacquer work. This is because of the designer's collaboration with Glasgow-based surface manufacturer Mirrl who asked the creative "to examine alternative applications of its solid surface material" which is "inspired by the ancient art of Tsugaru Nuri lacquerware."
