M.I.A,'s record label, N.E.E.T, has Baltimore booty-shaker Rye Rye, DJ and producer Blaqstarr and indie band Sleigh Bells signed to her music company--all pretty suitable choices. Another wolf in the pack is photographer Jaime Martinez, who is also signed to N.E.E.T.
It makes perfect sense for a visual artist to be signed to a record label for all the promotional and editorial duties that come into play when managing a musical act. "For the kind of stuff I do, it makes more sense for me to belong to something like N.E.E.T than to photo agency," said Jaime Martinez of his atypical position.
