Italian Single Malt Whiskies

These High-End Whiskies are Brewed by Italian Distillers

A group of Italian distillers is producing single malt whiskies that are sure to appeal to serious whiskey connoisseurs. Although Italy is well known for its wine industry, the country is less famous for its spirits. However, now the Puni Distillery may be changing Italy's reputation with its phenomenal single malt whiskies.

Puni Italian Malt Whiskey is brewed in South Tyrol, which sits at the foot of the Italian alps. Although the Italian distillers who produce the spirit have not been making whiskey for very long, they have already managed to produce the country's first single malt whiskey. There are two expressions of the whiskey: Puni Nova and Puni Alba. The former was matured in American bourbon barrels and then finished in European oak casks, while the later was matured in Marsala dessert wine casks and finished in Islay casks.

The result is two complex single malt whiskies with a distinct Italian flare.
