Isa Barbier Creates Etheral Installations from Hanging Feathers

These elegant and dramatic installations from French artist Isa Barbier are breathtaking. The huge works of art spans entire rooms and adds weight to the flimsy materials when grouped together.

Barbier hangs feathers on filament to create abstract geometric shapes and compositions, which become visible when viewed as a whole from a distance. The feathers seem to defy gravity as they hang suspended in mid air from the wholly transparent filament. The fragmented sculptures create a feminine and airy work of art that has to be seen in order to be believed. When viewed close up, or straight on, the feathers almost disappear.

I for one would definitely visit an exhibition like this to catch a glimpse of these stunning artworks from every angle. This is one exhibition that is simply magical.
