Sleep-Improving Smartphone Features

Apple's Upcoming iOS 9.3 Will Offer a Sleep-Enhancing Mode

Similar to Apple's 'Do Not Disturb' feature, the iOS 9.3 update will feature a 'Night Shift' mode which helps improve the user's sleep. With an array of studies indicating that emitted light from a smartphone can negatively effect sleep, this new feature will battle against bright light by offering a calming substitute.

It has been reported multiple times that a smartphone light can alter the body's circadian rhythm. When enabled, the 'Night Shift' mode will automatically reduce the blue light in the user's phone display and replace it with warmer colors in the spectrum. In the morning, the display screen will automatically return to its usual temperature color, mimicking natural daylight.

Though the iOS 9.3 update is sent to all apple devices, the 'Night Shift' will be limited to products that have a 64-bit processor.
