Gerri Sayler created the large-scale drizzled glue gun installation deemed Interstitial: Between Earth and Sky for the University of Wyoming Art Museum in Laramie.
The art piece is 28 by 33 feet and made up of several strands of glue that trickle down from the ceiling windows of the museum. The shimmery-sticky strands were made by squeezing hot glue into ice water. When the light hits them, they shimmer like crystals casting waves of reflective light around the room. When the sun is down, they sit like a curtain of colorless string. From afar, the hot glue lines appear like a furious downpour of large rain drops falling from the ceiling.
