Okha's Interior Collaboration Was Inspired by African Mythology

Tables and houseware are often designed to blend into the background of a room, which is why Atang Tshikare and Okha's interior collaboration produced such beautiful and unconventional results.

The collaboration resulted in the production of two gorgeous pieces, a side table and a coffee table. Both designs were made with thick glass inserts and sturdy bronze frames, to help complement the product's unusual shapes, which were inspired by African mythology. The coffee table, titled the 'Metsing,' translates to " place of water," and is reminiscent of three interconnected puddles. The 'Kaggen' side table, which translates to "Praying Mantis," was named after its spider-like form.

The artists behind the designs claimed that the idea behind the tables came from the desire to turn a spiritual concept into something "tangible and present."
