Instagram Reels Can Now Be Up to 30 Seconds Long

Instagram Reels first hit the social media site at the beginning of the month, and due to its success, the time limit on Reels will now be extended by 15 seconds, allowing creators to upload 30-second videos.

In addition to this update, the social media platform has also announced that the timer at the beginning of the video will be extended to 10 seconds, giving creators more time to prepare before the self timer begins recording. In an official statement, Instagram Reels product director Tessa Lyons-Laing said "We continue to improve Reels based on people’s feedback, and these updates make it easier to create and edit. While it’s still early, we’re seeing a lot of entertaining, creative content."
