Google has broken ground on its India AI Hub in Visakhapatnam. This gigawatt-scale artificial intelligence ecosystem is being developed in a strategic partnership with AdaniConneX and Nxtra by Airtel. This project represents Google's largest single investment in the country’s digital future to date.
The India AI Hub will include three data center campuses, expanded fibre-optic networks through the America-India Connect initiative, and a long-term clean energy strategy. The project is designed to provide the high-performance, low-latency computing infrastructure that businesses, researchers, and developers need to build and scale their own AI-powered solutions.
Students and educators in the region will receive training in cloud computing and generative AI, directly benefiting from the Skills Trade and Readiness program and the partnership with ICT Academy, which together aim to prepare over two thousand local learners for AI-related careers.
