In-Flight AR Experiences

Air New Zealand Will Soon Using In-Flight Augmented Reality for Clients

In a new trial, Air New Zealand will be equipping its flight attendants with in-flight Augmented reality Hololens headsets. The goal of the technology is to give flight attendants an edge in aiding their passengers and fielding questions more efficiently.

Attendants would have the capability to draw upon various figures immediately, answering: questions related to flight times, locations, time zones and even the weather. The lenses can also provide a breakdown of each passenger, where their final destination is, who they're traveling with, and any allergies or health concerns.

The technology could also be a more seamless problem solving solution, as updates from the crew could be provided via the headsets, eliminating verbal conversations which could cause unnecessary worry among the passengers. In-flight augmented reality is yet another example of smart technology being utilized to promote functionality, organization and connectivity.
