Imaginary Creatures from Illustrated Thoughts Hits the TTC

Victor Samuel Huckabee’s Imaginary Creatures from Illustrated Thoughts will give commuters a way to avoid making awkward eye contact with strangers on the TTC -- at least for the month of March.

The Nashville-based artist compiled a series of images that feature a variety of different thoughts, from the mundane to the profound, illustrated through the use of quirky, imaginary creatures. The project, organized by the non-profit collective Art for Commuters, will be displayed on computer screens across various subway platforms in Toronto until March 31.

The installation gives commuters a candid, and often humorous, account of everyday ideas in a short and succinct way. The pictures are part of Huckabee's larger body of work that use his own innermost thoughts as inspiration for the mystical creatures he designs.

Imaginary Creatures from Illustrated Thoughts is a quick way to boost one's spirits while making the daily commute and could possibly leave commuters pondering things they never thought possible.
