The igus:bike is Made with 90% Recycled Plastic Waste

The igus:bike is a sustainable transportation solution created in partnership between the Germany-based motion plastic specialists and the MTRL Dutch bicycle startup. The bike is crafted from more than 90% recycled plastic waste, which is observed for the frame, wheels, gears and forks. The all-plastic bike maintains a corrosion-free construction that would be optimal for use in outdoor environments when exposed to the elements.

The igus:bike is still under development but has been prototyped by the brands and is making its debut at trade fairs like the Hannover Messe. The bike is expected to be sold from MTRL by the end of the year with an adult-sized model priced at around €1,400. A model made with virgin plastic is also expected to be made available.
