The Hydroflex Skateboards are Inspired by Surfboard Materials

Skaters looking to take on an old-school design with new-school materials should check out the Hydroflex skateboard. These skateboards are inspired by surfboard materials in which the originals were made with leftover surfboard materials.

The same concept applies in making these skateboards both lightweight and waterproof (unlike traditional wooden skateboards.) These boards take some of the style of the decks found in the 1970s and advance them with modern technology. The honeycomb pattern design creates a 3-D glassing bonding that fuses the deck together and makes it durable. Reinforcements including fiberglass and pet foam give this board added protection.

The boards come in three differently sized models accommodating different skating styles and weights. You can check these models out when Hydroflex launches October 3rd on Kickstarter.
