Nix Develops a Hydration Biosensor for Endurance Athletes

The Hydration Biosensor designed by Nix is a wearable device that is made to be worn along the bicep. It is a pod-and-patch combination that lets out a sensor to endurance athletes on when they should be hydrating during a workout. Additionally, it is able to give wearers personalized hydration recommendations and calculate the electrolyte loss that is dependent on certain variables including their sweat rate and weather.

It is designed with two components -- this includes a reusable sensor pod and connects to single-use patches. These patches are made from a latex-free adhesive to ensure that it is comfortable to wear. Before working out, the pods have to be aligned with the grooves in the sensor attachment and twisted to lock on.
