Instead of featuring standard bulbs with a connection in the middle that allows the sand to spill from one to another, this minimalistic design spills black sand from one container onto a stark white plate. Once the cycle is complete, the sand must then be put back into the dispenser in order to be reused.
Truly a post-modern approach to timekeeping, the hour glass design by Svirsky is rather unrealistic, but makes up for its shortcomings with a striking design that utilizes black and white color schemes to make an impact.
