Zac Posen's Spring 2010 Collection at the Altman Building at NYFW

Bowing out of the star-studded tents of New York Fashion week at Bryant Park this year, Zac Posen’s change of location to the Altman Building with hot pink carpet was just the beginning of pleasing changes the designer wrought.

His focus on club wear saw tiny colorblocked dresses, manipulation of fierce prints and (with what is fast becoming one of the season’s hottest trends) leather cut-outs all over the place, in front of the garment-enhancing hot pink carpet.

While most other designers chose to show in the celebrated, but redundant, tents of Bryant Park, it was a nice change of scenery…and never underestimate the aesthetic advantages of showing on a hot pink carpet. Unless, of course, your collection happens to be comprised mostly of orange.
