Frightening VR Attractions

The Universal Orlando Resort's 'Repository' is a New Horror Simulator

'The Repository' is the name of a new horror simulator attraction at the Universal Orlando Resort that will be running during the Halloween Haunted Nights event until the arrival of Halloween this October.

The experience uses VRcade wireless multiplayer technology from VRstudios, which makes it possible for four guests to become immersed in a single storyline at the same time. Each person involved is assigned a role in the live-action story experience and begins by exploring The Repository warehouse before being introduced to the virtual reality experience. The virtual experience challenges participants to search for a key that will transport them to a portal that is used by the paranormal creatures who cross into the real world.

Now more than ever, there are hybrid experiences like this being created at amusement and theme parks that use a blend of real-world experiences and technology.
