Homeless Survival Kits

Edmundas Jankauskas's Kit Design Prepares People for Life on the Street

This homeless survival kit by student designer Edmundas Jankauskas from the Vilnius College of Design in Lithuania proposes a few essential objects for living out daily life on the streets.

The Homeless Aid Kit comes with a tool for collecting plastics from containers, two pairs of gloves and 30 plastic bags. The packaging itself takes the form of a tote that makes carting around these items easy. On top of this, the bag contains information on where to stay the night, where to go to get food nearby, or where to get clean with a shower. Although the kit was developed for a school graphic design project, Jankauskas proposes that the kit could easily be given away for free at city buildings and homeless shelters.
