This geometric home concept is designed by emerging 23 year-old architect William Samin. Entering the fourth annual Ryterna Architectural Challenge, the young designer was tasked to visualize a 270 square foot living space. The stacked geometric structure of the Trapezoidal Mod allows for terrain and location adaptability, the pivoting walls and glazing doors foster apt air circulation and there is always the possibility of further expansion in the future.
The spaciously economic design of the practical home concept relies on sunken furniture. William Samin installs the living room couch below the floor. The concealing strategy allows for future homeowners to use even the back pillows as a functioning sitting area. The cushions have been enlarged and made to support additional weight accordingly.
