Funky Food-Eating Illustrations

'Noodles' By Holly Exley Depicts People Munching on Pasta and Soup

People usually don’t watch other people eat since it makes the eater feel self-conscious, but that’s not a problem when looking at these Holly Exley illustrations. Rendered with brilliant splotches of watercolor paints, this idiosyncratic series combines my love of art and noodles by depicting people eating the delectable Asian staple.

Funnily enough, each illustration in this collection features people eating different components of a similar noodle dish. A young Asian boy tackles the noodles itself while another woman eats what I’m assuming to be a fish ball. Even the eating methods are varied as one lady slurps the broth in a well-mannered way, using a spoon, while another individual guzzles the soup bowl-to-mouth style.

If you haven’t guessed it by now, this Holly Exley series is entitled ‘Noodles.’
