Cheerful Holiday Installations

Studio Cadena's Artwork Delights with Abstract-Style Smiley Faces

Studio Cadena's playful holiday installation, located outside of New York City's Flatiron Building, proves to be an unconventional choice for the festive season, but one that will delight passers-by nonetheless. Instead of the traditional color scheme and iconic motifs of celebrated holidays like Christmas and Hannukah, Studio Cadena undertakes a rather largely abstract project.

The holiday installation consists of 23 transparent vinyl screens that are prompted up by a black frame. With a rather minimalist aesthetic, the temporary pavilion evokes warmth and happiness with its tonal yellow colorway. Studio Cadena's creation essentially shows a collection of abstract-forward smiley faces. The main idea behind the structure is to not only celebrate the holidays but to also "offer light relief at the end [of] a tumultuous year in the US."
