This high tech pen is designed to make the experience at the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum more interactive. Based in New York, the design museum will lend a Pen to every person visiting, allowing them to 'collect' objects and explore the museum's collection digitally.
Launching this year, the Pen collaborated with Bloomberg Connects to create the engaging elements during a three year long renovation. Housed in New York City's Carnegie Mansion, the 210,000 item collection can be browsed with the portable high-tech pen. The device can be touched to the label of any object, where NFC technology stores data. Seven different Collection Browser screens can transfer the information, which creates a personalized selection of pieces to learn about.
