The High Desert Modern House Blends Beautifully With its Surroundings

Designed by DeForest Architects and NB Design Group the High Desert Modern house is meant to be a "cool, calm and collected" space with distinct sliding panels. Located in Bend, a small city near the Cascade Mountains, this home is built on a gorgeous natural site blanketed by tall grasses, low-lying shrubs, and punctuated with pine trees. This natural surrounding inspired many of the design elements of the High Desert Modern house which features an exterior palette that blends together beautifully with the subtle colors of the desert.

The High Desert Modern house also features distinct sliding panels used on several walls of the home. These panels work to either expose or conceal parts of the interior, while also providing incredible control over the natural light in the house.
