Sanrio has released a Hello Kitty MP3 player that might just take a chunk out of the iPod market. This Shuffle-like player is in the shape of the celebrated kitty’s head and comes complete with two skins (pink angel and black devil) for Hello Kitty to wear.
This 2GB portable MP3 player has a ten hour battery life and supports MP3 or WMA files. Coming in at $160 (¥14,500), the Hello Kitty MP3 player isn’t cheap, but is it really possible to put a price on a character as iconic as Hello Kitty and a music player as unique as this? No word yet on whether other popular Sanrio characters such as Keroppi, My Melody and Badtz-Maru will get the MP3 treatment.
